This experiential session will introduce you to The Listening Space – a simple and structured process in which one person facilitates another to explore an issue that is on their mind, using a combination of repeating back their words and a specific set of Clean questions. This could be anything from a problem they would like to gain clarity on to a creative idea they want to develop.

Clean questions can be used to focus on the metaphors that people naturally use to express themselves. When this happens they experience being listened to at a very deep level and can be facilitated to make transformative and long-lasting changes.

The learning outcomes from this session will be:

• An awareness of how Clean questions can be used to develop mindful awareness through metaphor, and
• An ability to incorporate Clean questions into the coaching work that you do.

The session is being run by Tamsin Hartley.  Tamsin worked as a physiotherapist for 10 years before retraining as a coach, trainer and workshop facilitator. She has always been drawn to using metaphor in her work, and when a friend introduced her to Clean Language it wasn’t long before she was hooked. Here was a respectful way of working with the metaphors that is both resourceful and richly creative.

She is author of the book, The Listening Space: A New Path to Personal Discovery. This book gives you tools to change the way you listen by combining the principles of mindfulness with exploration through metaphor using a simple set of Clean questions.
