In this session we will to pay attention to our own patterns, behaviours and assumptions through the conscious and deliberate process of reflective practice in order to develop new skills, change habits and at a deeper level gain greater awareness and capacity to manage ourselves as coaches.

As coaches we are encouraged to review and reflect on our practice yet truthfully how often do we take dedicated time to consciously do so? And how do we encourage those we coach to do the same?

Often in this very action-orientated, results-driven world taking time to actively and consciously reflect is seen as a luxury and is frequently overlooked. Yet we all do reflect; however, it is usually on the hoof, seldom written down and more often than not doesn’t result in concrete conclusions, development or change.

During the evening we will look at what we mean by reflective practice, and being a reflective practitioner, share ways of doing reflective practice and try out a number of techniques.

By the end of this session you will:

  • Have a clear knowledge of what reflective practice is and the benefits of regularly doing it.
  • Have a number of techiques to use
  • Know what constitutes good reflective practice

This session will be run by Geroge Boak, Fiona Scrase and Peter Lumley from York Coaching.

We hope you can join us. As ever please book your place so we know numbers
