The purpose of this event is to introduce you to a simple, logical approach to problem solving and planning that you can use in any situation. In place processes can be used to address the questions if appropriate.

I am offering to introduce you to the 7 Questions Framework for Thinking, that I developed for Army Commanders, to help them to use the military planning process  to develop Effects/Outcome based plans.  I will then show, through a simple scenario, how the 7 Questions can be used as a framework for any problem solving or planning task. You will then be able to try it for yourselves and ask questions to gain a clear understanding of the benefits of the 7 Questions approach to planning and problem solving.

As a learning outcome from this event you will have learned the 7 questions and how to use them in your own organisations and those of people you coach.

The event is being run by Mark Faulkner.  Mark served for 34 years in the Army, initially in the 5th Royal Inniskilling Dragoon Guards, then, after amalgamation with the 4th/7th Dragoon Guards, he commanded the Royal Dragoon Guards.  He then worked on the General staff for the rest of his time in the Army, including a job running the Command and Staff Trainer (North) in Catterick where he developed the 7 Questions, initially as a coaching tool, before he retired as a Colonel. When Mark left the army in January 2009 he got a job for North Yorkshire Youth Ltd as Head of Carlton Lodge Activity Centre and he is now in his 11th year.
